Winter wonderland, winter colour

Today Leeds transformed into a winter wonderland. Here's the view from my office window overlooking the city, and from Millenium Square Gardens looking towards the Town Hall & Old School Board.

Very picturesque but lacking a bit of colour me thinks. That evening, as I was sorting through pics from last year I came across these images of winter stems & branches, taken in Feb at Goldenacre Park. Scarlet Dogwood, Cornus alba sibirica, Twisted hazel, Corylus avellana 'contorta'. Birch, Betula papyrifera, sun shining through peeling bark.
